Dora Angevine, LPC

Licensed Professional Counselor

Pronouns: They/Them

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Oregon and Missouri with a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have received clinical training in Liberation Psychology, EMDR (completed EMDRIA level 2) therapy, Family Systems Theory, Emotion Focused Therapy, Attachment Theory, Play Therapy, and Cultural Foundations and Social Justice.

I have experience providing trauma-informed therapy, integrating Relational-Cultural Therapy and Liberation Psychology for people who are Gender Expansive, Trans, Nonbinary, Two-Spirit, Queer, LGBTQIA+, Neurodivergent, Autistic, ADHD individuals seeking mental health counseling therapy  for high Anxiety, Autistic Burnout,  Trauma, Religious trauma,  PTSD, Gender Affirming Care, and liberation from oppressive systems.

My approach acknowledges that our liberation is deeply interconnected with that of all oppressed people. I am committed to ongoing learning and advocacy, known for a collaborative approach that values lived experience, prioritizes the dismantling of systemic oppression, and emphasizes the power of collective healing and community resilience. I am passionately dedicated to anti-oppression, affirming the identities of LGBTQIA+, neurodivergent individuals, and those from marginalized communities and the global majority.

In our work together, you can expect a warm, grounded, culturally sensitive, and nonjudgmental counseling relationship where your unique experiences are honored. Therapy is not about fixing you—because you are not broken—but about creating a space where your voice is heard, you can explore and heal via the transformative power of connection, your strengths are celebrated, you feel supported in navigating life’s challenges.

When appropriate, I integrate nature-based practices such as Ecotherapy and the mindfulness practice of A.W.E., as well as expressive arts. These approaches invite creativity and connection with the natural world as tools for healing. EMDR therapy and the embodied somatic practice of EFT (emotional freedom technique of tapping) are also available as somatic practices helping patients process and reframe distressing memories and thoughts in an embodied way.

I’m a forest-wandering, flower-gathering, cozy-cardigan-wearing therapist who is passionately pro-liberation and believe healing doesn’t have to feel heavy all the time—it can include moments of joy and whimsy too. When I’m not in session, you might find me reading in my garden, camping under starry skies, gathering wild flowers, or hanging out with majestic old trees that feel like kindred spirits. I’m a caretaker for some non-human fuzzballs: a Frenchie and some mini-panthers (rescued cats), whose energy vacillates between boisterous playfulness and cozy napping on opposing schedules. I also enjoy the process of creating collage art journals, stabbing fabric with colorful thread (aka: embroidering), tending my garden full of native plants and herbs, and laughing with my grandchildren, who teach me new things about joy every day.  I practice queer and trans+ affirming, anti-racist, neurodivergent and disability affirming, pro-liberation social justice efforts from a place of cultural humility. As a queer, nonbinary, white, disabled, neurodivergent, educated therapist I hold awareness that my intersecting identities play a complex role in my practice. It’s not only my goal but my responsibility to use my privileged sociological position to challenge, divest from, and decolonize systems of oppression.

My Clinical Director is Del Knight, PsyD, LPC, LMHC, NCC, CCTH, ACS.
