Erik is a third-year practicum student at Portland Mental Health and Wellness working under the license of Erica Aten, PsyD. He has completed a master’s degree program at George Fox University’s School of Graduate Psychology and is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in clinical psychology from the same institution. Erik employs an integrative therapeutic style, merging techniques from cognitive-behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, person-centered therapy, and relational psychodynamic therapy in his clinical approach. He works with individuals in late adolescence and early adulthood through to late adulthood. Erik has experience providing group and individual therapy at an inpatient psychiatric hospital and at an integrated primary care clinic. Through his participation in community mental health settings, he has developed a commitment in advocating for and delivering fair healthcare services, addressing needs at the individual and systemic levels.
