Frances Mylet, MA

Professional Counselor Associate

Pronouns: She/Her/Hers

Welcome,

My name is Frances Mylet and I am a professional counselor associate. I hold a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwest University and am currently being supervised by Dr. Len Kaufman.

As each person is unique, therapy looks a little different for everyone. In my approach, I aim to create a balance of both learning practical tools and taking time to zoom out and look at the larger patterns you may be stuck in, clarifying the values you hold, and exploring the big questions that come up throughout life. I draw from modalities such as acceptance and commitment therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, and Gottman method couples therapy in my approach.

I work with adults, teens, and couples on a wide range of concerns such as anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, trauma, cultural identity, communication skills, and improving interpersonal relationships.

I have worked with clients to rebuild their sense of autonomy after experiencing intimate partner violence, supported clients as they processed grief over issues in their family of origin, helped couples understand each other’s perspectives and cultural backgrounds with greater empathy, and worked with teens on reframing their relationship with anxiety.

I believe that you are the expert on your own life and author of your own story, and I have great respect for the knowledge and skills that you bring into therapy. Together, I hope we can explore the story of your life and imagine what the next chapter might hold for you.
