Juanita Tapio-Brewer, MSW
Clinical Social Work Associate
Pronouns: She/Her/Hers
I’m Juanita Tapio-Brewer. I have a Master of Social Work and a Bachelor of Science in Child, Youth, & Family Studies from Portland State University. As a therapist, I come into my work with an awareness of how we each bring our lived experiences and unique perspectives, which are informed by our identities. In my work I draw from a multicultural perspective, utilizing techniques from feminist therapy, strengths-based, CBT, systems theory, and narrative therapy. I am also a client-centered therapist, where I bring curiosity, emphasize collaboration, and an openness to learn. I aim to create a welcoming and non-judgmental environment, and to nurture respect, honesty, and compassion within the therapeutic relationship. I work with adults experiencing concerns ranging from depression, anxiety, trauma, identity development, life transitions, and loss. I have a passion for working with individuals who hold identities that have been historically marginalized.
