Doctoral Psychology Extern
Pronouns: She/Her
I am a doctoral trainee completing my PsyD in clinical psychology at George Fox University. I have previously worked in community mental health, residential rehabilitation, and substance use treatment. My graduate training has consisted of inpatient work with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness, emotionally focused therapy with adults and adolescents, and college counseling. I also volunteer with LGBTQ+ college students and co-facilitate a faith-based LGBTQ+ support group in Newberg.
In the therapy room, I use an integrative approach of emotionally-focused and person-centered therapies, occasionally drawing from cognitive behavioral and dialectical behavioral techniques. I like to incorporate self-compassion and mindfulness practices in my work, as well. My therapeutic style is compassionate, warm, and client-led. I always strive for my space to be inclusive, trauma-informed, antiracist, and culturally responsive. My goal for anyone I work with is for them to leave feeling empowered, understood, and self-assured.
