Mark Reck, PsyD, ACS
Licensed Psychologist & Clinical Director
Pronouns: He/Him/His
I am a licensed psychologist in the state of Oregon, earned my doctorate in clinical psychology from Pacific University, and been trained in gestalt therapy through the Gestalt Therapy Training Center-Northwest. I also hold an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) credential through the Center for Credentialing & Education. I am experienced with working with adults in individual, group, and partner therapy formats, as well as addressing a number of mental health issues such as anxiety, concentration and focus, depression and other mood concerns, and trauma. I also assist people with identity development and navigating stressors related to identity-based oppression. I have a personal and professional interest in meditative practices, with a specific emphasis on decolonizing those practices and reclaiming their traditional roots in the service of supporting liberation from our contemporary anguish. I also have had extensive experience working at university counseling centers and, thus, supporting undergraduate, graduate, and medical students within the unique context of higher educational programs.
As a multiracial (paternally White, maternally Asian) cisgender male, I recognize the significant influence cultural and social identities have on individual experiences, including how those identities are shaped, perceived, and reacted to in larger institutions and society. I approach my work through embodying a collaborative and anti-oppressive stance that includes (but is not limited to) being anti-racist, gender explorative, body-positive, sex-positive, and anti-ableist. I acknowledge the importance of having a holistic approach to support all aspects, identities, and elements that makeup one’s self, as the intersections of our identities create unique experiences for each of us, both with how we understand ourselves and how we operate in the larger world.
