Sawyer Sheldon, LPC
Licensed Professional Counselor
Pronouns: She/Her/Hers
I hold a Bachelors of Science in Social and Behavioral Sciences from Linfield University (formerly Linfield College) in McMinnville, Oregon; and a Masters of Arts in Applied Psychological Sciences from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon.
My goal is to foster a collaborative and supportive environment in order to help my clients identify barriers to happiness and fulfillment in their lives, and then work together to set achievable goals to overcome those barriers.
I am dedicated to helping people process and heal from trauma of all varieties; and as an Army Veteran I appreciate working with other Veterans in this capacity as well. I also have a passion for working with people struggling with a variety of identity and life issues including anxiety, grief and loss, body image and body activism, parenting and family issues, and life transitions. I value working with diverse populations, ensuring equitable access of care for all, and have a strong interest in social justice matters.
My clinical approach is centered around finding the best fit for each individual client. To do this I employ a variety of treatment modalities including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) coping skills, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
