Prior to getting my certification in psychiatric mental health, I had 13 years experience as a family nurse practitioner specializing in emergency medicine. I encountered people on a daily basis who had challenges with depression, anxiety, identity struggles, ADHD, bipolar disorder, and other mental health concerns. I witnessed how difficult it was for people to access care and I wanted to get involved and become an advocate and provider for those desperately needing help. I am interested in supporting the overall health and wellness of the patients I serve.
I understand and appreciate the courage it takes to seek out help. I welcome those seeking care and celebrate their bravery. I want to empower and destigmatize any shame associated with having a mental health condition.
I strive to create an open environment where my patients can share and know they will be welcome and not judged. I am a member of the LGBTQ+ community and have firsthand experience of being part of a marginalized group and the challenges that can create. My hope is to bring compassion to my sessions and help my patients achieve their individual goals.
I work with adults and children over 12.
